Scw1 Rotting Zombie Modonna
A very Rare print only 55 signed and numbered prints exist by one of the greatest if not the greatest of underground artists, this very limited print is #41/55 (only 55 in the world) and is pencil signed by S.Clay Wilson with a personal message to a friend at a gallery show in San Francisco in 1987. (To Kent a True Smoking Fool "Asses to Asses-Bust to Bust! July 1987 S. Clay Wilson:")
There was more then a bit of controversy over this piece of art because it was one of
the pieces in a cultural exchange with Russia in 1988 that was threatened with censorship,
and almost caused an international incident, being the only piece rejected by Russia.
Can you imagine the State dept. had to check out S.Clay's work and talk Russia in to accepting it, that is heavy, after more than a tussle it was included in the exchange.
Rich Black silk screen on good art stock.
I have seen this piece sell for $1,000 in the mid 90s in the San Francisco area,
(Very Fine/Near Mint) condition. Unframed, will be shipped free, insured at no extra charge,
